Is entertainment rest? When we have had a long week, our default is to crash on the couch and pop in a movie. Is it bad to watch a movie? No. But is it truly rest? Would the highest be to rest in His presence? I believe so. This doesn't mean we have to have a worship night with our concordance and notebook evertime we have a free moment It could be simply crashing on the couch and sitting in silence, or soaking with worship music. I really believe we need a perspective shift on what rest truly is. I want to make every part of my life, even my rest, honor the Lord.

Chris,
I have been thinking of the same thing lately! I'm listening to a teaching on Graham Cooke about Rest and what rest truly is.... I'm being challenged in the same thing myself as my default after a hard day is to want to come home and just "veg" but I've recently seen the toll on my spiritual life from that. Good thoughts!
John & I were JUST talking about this on the way to church this morning. We need to do all things from a posture of "sitting." Both of us have been reading Watchman Nee's book - Sit Walk Stand.
